NITI Aayog member, Prof. Ramesh Chand, emphasized the need to enhance maize productivity to meet the growing demand for ethanol production. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare conducted a workshop in New Delhi, chaired by Prof. Ramesh Chand, discussing strategies for increasing maize cultivation. Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja highlighted the crucial role of the private sector in formulating progressive maize cultivation strategies. The workshop featured presentations from various stakeholders, including state governments, research institutions, and the private sector, discussing challenges, interventions, and collaborative efforts to boost maize production and support the maize-to-ethanol ecosystem. The discussions aimed to provide insights and potential solutions for enhancing maize production at both national and global levels.
