In Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, Nitin Sirohi, District President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Arajnaitik), announced a protest on July 22 in Lucknow to address the non-payment of dues by sugar mills. Thousands of workers from Bijnor will join to surround the Cane Commissioner’s office. During a recent meeting, Sirohi highlighted that around 25 sugar mills have not paid their pending sugarcane dues to farmers. He urged the district administration to take farmers' issues seriously and address their complaints.
